First appearing in the 1960s, the size of a double wide manufactured home can range from as small as 100 square feet to as large as 3,240 square feet. That being said, the majority of double wide manufactured homes today are between 1,300 square feet and 1,800 square feet in size.

The cost of setting up a double wide manufactured home will be substantially lower if you plan to set one up in a park as the utilities are permitted and already in place. On the other hand, if you plan to set a double wide manufactured home on the land you own, the costs go up, as you would be required to obtain the necessary permits first.
