What is a Modular Home and Why is it ”Modular”?

What is a modular home? A modular home is a factory-built home that is constructed in modules, or sections, which are then transported to the building site and assembled. Modular homes are considered "manufactured homes" by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Why are modular homes called "modular?" The term "modular" refers to the construction method used to build these homes. Modular homes are built in a factory setting, in sections that are then transported to the building site and assembled. This construction method allows for more accurate and efficient construction, as well as a shorter build time.

Modular homes have many benefits over traditional stick-built homes. They are often more energy-efficient, due to the tight seal created by the factory construction process. Modular homes can also be built to withstand severe weather conditions, such as hurricanes and tornadoes. In addition, modular homes usually have a lower price tag than traditional stick-built homes.

If you're considering purchasing a modular home, it's important to work with a reputable builder. Jaco Sales will help you choose the right floor plan. We are here for you throughout the whole process from start to finish.
