Your home is our priority, and we're here to make it shine.

Check Your Skirting
The skirting of your manufactured home acts as an insulator for your home. It helps keep your manufactured home warm in the cold months and cooler in the hot months. The skirting also protects your home from animals and pests.

After the winter, you need to make sure the skirting is still in place and in good condition. Snow from the winter may have built up against the skirting and damaged it or water from the melting snow may have dislocated a piece of the skirting. Make sure it's still in good condition and that air is still ventilated throughout the space properly.

Check The Underbelly
It's not fun, but it should be done, so put on some old clothes, grab a flashlight and crawl under your manufactured home. You need to check the underbelly to make sure there's no excess moisture from snow or ice. Clear any debris that may have built up over the winter. And make sure there are no dead pests or rodents that tried to make a home for themselves.

Check the plumbing under your home to make sure there is no damage caused by the winter. Metal pipes can easily freeze and crack during a cold winter. If you turned off the water to certain parts of the house during the winter, you may not notice that pipes have sustained any damage.

Foundation
While you are under the house, check the foundation as well. The winter can put a great strain on the foundation. Check for any cracks or deterioration. Missing or crumbling mortar is a sign of problems with the foundation and should be addressed immediately. You want your manufactured home to be strong and secure and the foundation is where stability and structural integrity begin.

Wood
Also, you need to check all wood around your manufactured home. This includes steps, decks, patios and porches. Please pay close attention to any wooden railing or support beams. You don't want lean against the railing and find yourself on the ground below. You may need to treat all the wood all around your home to prevent damage or peeling. Also, check all wooden items around your home for damage from insects and termites.
